Robert Wilson

The Battalion were part of the 3rd (Royal Marine) Brigade, 63rd (Royal Naval) Division when Robert fell. The Division captured Puisieux Trench on the 03/02/1917 and were part of the actions of Miraumont, 17th - 18th February 1917. This was part of the Operations on the Ancre, 11th January - 13th March 1917 : The Final flickering of the 1916 Somme offensive as British seek localised tactical advantage on heights above valley of the River Ancre. Robert's record states - Enlisted 29/04/1915, Draft for MEF 09/09/1915, Joined the "Howe" Battalion 21/09/1915 till 19/05/1916 when he contracted an ear inflammation. Re-joined Battalion 20/08/1916. Robert was listed as wounded and missing on the 17/02/1917 and then presumed killed on that date.
