Findlay (Finlay) Muir

The Battalion arrived in France in July 1915 and were part of the 45th Brigade, 15th (Scottish) Division. Findlay was accidentally killed in France 20 days after he arrived on the 02/10/1915. He suffered from poor eyesight. He stumbled against a rifle which had been left on the fire-step and some part of his equipment caught the trigger. He is also remembered on the Coatbridge Technical College and Middle United Free Churches Rolls of Honour and at the Family Plot in New Monkland Cemetery (see photos) and in the St. Augustine's Parish (book) Roll of Honour.
