On the 20/12/1914 the Battalion arrived at Le Havre. They moved to Salonika, arriving on the 05/12/1915. They were part of the 81st Brigade, 27th Division. Archie arrived in France on the 13/04/1915. Archie Died of Wounds in Hospital received on the 03/10/1916 as his Battalion attacked the Bulgarians in order to take a village they held. This was the capture of Yenikoi, 3rd - 4th 1916.The Casualty list for the Salonika campaign reads - Killed : 146 Officers and 2,653 other ranks, Died of wounds : 76 Officers and 1349 other ranks, Died of disease : 103 Officers and 4,110 other ranks, Wounded : 794 Officers and 16,214 other ranks, Missing/prisoners : 118 Officers and 2,556 other ranks. Totals : 1,237 officers and 26,882 other ranks. Archie had spent 10 months in France and 10 in Salonika.
