Died on the 01/02/1919 in bed of natural causes in Northern Russia

David and the 10th (Service) Battalion Highland Light Infantry arrived at Boulogne on the 12/05/1915. They were part of the 28th Brigade, 9th (Scottish) Division before being transferred to the 46th Brigade, 15th (Scottish) Division on the 14/05/1916. They were amalgamated with the 11th (Service) Battalion. David's Service Number with the Highland Light Infantry was 17323. The 252 and 253 Companies Machine Gun Corps (Infantry) : Joined 214th Infantry Brigade of 71st Division in England on the 09/11/1917. This was being formed into a Special Brigade for operations at Murmansk in North Russia. Moved with Brigade to 67th (2nd Home Counties) Division on the 12/02/1918. Both Companies served in North Russia from mid 1918. David was previously buried in Seletskoe Cemetery (see Reburial Forms). He was found dead in bed in Northern Russia. The war against Germany was over but Britain had intervened on the side of the Royalists (Whites) in the Russian Civil War. The verdict of the Military Authority - Death by natural causes.
