The Battalion arrived at Boulogne on the 10/07/1915 and were part of the 46th Brigade, 15th (Scottish) Division. From the Division book from the 16/05/1916 - On the 16th May the Division extended its line southwards as far as Vendin Valley. The new line was now sub-divided into 2 sub-sections, known as the Hulloch (South) and Hohenzollern (North) respectively. During these 2 months (May and June) heavy fighting was going on in other parts of the Allied front. In the south the Battle of Verdun was at its height, whilst in the north the enemy was preparing to make a 3rd attack on Ypres, and in consequence the Loos salient was comparatively quiet for the remainder of May and June.
